Hanabii Pacifier
Hanabii Pacifier is the world's first self-ejecting pacifier that propels out of the child mouth when sucking motion stops. This floral shaped pacifier aims to reduce pacifier reliance for young children and to minimize contamination when dropped. This state-of-the-art design is groundbreaking as it leverages on the flexible ability of the silicone petals and thoughtful design details for the pacifier to recover passively to its original shape; while most pacifiers in the market relies on a upon-impact triggers indicator, which often triggers a false positive.
The Hanabii Pacifier is also heavily influenced by the Design Thinking process to remodel the user journey and processes to provide a better outcome which eliminated the traditional pacifier weaning process, which is often forceful. The Hanabii Pacifier pops out of the child’s mouth gradually, reducing the reliance of such product overtime subtly without even the child realizing. This process gamifies and reshapes the once emotionally painful weaning process into something fun and interactive with the parents.
To obtain the ideal shape, the prototypes have been iterated over 20 times using the FDM 3D printing techniques using elastic materials to test for the best ergonomic formfactor.
